Biography

     The municipality Dolneni is in the north-west part of the Pelagonian basin, which is found on about 600 m. altitudes above see level.   The municipality Dolneni covers area of 430 km2. and it is one of the biggest newly formed municipalities  in the Republic of Macedonia. 2/3 of the total area is plain area, while 1/3 are high areas which are solely in the north part of the municipality. Almost 90% of the lowland part are arable lands, and of the mountain parts half are pastures and half are covered with wood.  
The municipality is formed by the new law for territory division and the Law for local self-government from 1996 and expanded with annexing the municipality Zhitoshe with the last Law for territorial organization of RM from 2004. The head office is found in the inhabited place Dolneni.
Dolneni was a separate municipality previously until 1965 when by the law regulations is being annexed to municipality Prilep, and it became municipality again in 1997 according to the Law for territorial  division and the Law for local self-government with all its authorities.

     The municipality Dolneni is consisted of 37 inhabited places with 13805 inhabitants with multi ethnic structure.
